We like to move it, move it :-)

Time is flying, and we actually can't believe that we'll be in Kuala Lumpur in two weeks from now. :-) The past weeks have been quite hectic and busy, especially with the finalization of my PhD thesis, the preparation of our travel (visa for the Philippines, vaccinations, malaria tablets, travel insurance, etc.), the move out of our apartment, and last but not least, a wedding (where we are master of ceremonies!). :-)

Last week, we already packed many boxes and moved a lot of our stuff out of our apartment in Utrecht. It feels so good to leave everything behind. We really look forward to our new adventure, and to discover all the beauty that the world has to offer. It would be great to relax, to have the time to read a book, to enjoy Asian food and the nice weather. It will be great to spend a lot of time together and to worry about questions like: "Shall we go to the beach today, or shall we rent a scooter to discover this Island instead?" But of course, at the same time, we realize that we are going to miss our friends and family a lot.

Our plan is as follows. We leave the 3rd of November and we will travel for 4 weeks in Malaysia. The end of November we'll fly to Australia where we will travel 2 months. Afterwards, we will travel 5 weeks in the Philippines and we come back to the Netherlands the 9th of March (for the defense of my PhD thesis).

The first two days of our travel we'll stay in Kuala Lumpur, after which we will fly to Langkawi (a tropical island in Malaysia with beautiful beaches) where we will stay for 5 days (at the Tubehotel). Afterwards, we will take the boat to the island Ko Lipe in Thailand, where we will continue our relaxation. I will add some enviable photos below to get an idea of what awaits us... ;-)

We did not plan the rest of our trip, but we'll see how it goes. We have booked our flight tickets to Australia and the Philippines, and we have booked a campervan for the two months Australia. For the rest, we'll go with the flow. :-)

We will keep you updated,

Warm regards,

Erik & Annemarie
